i quit 12 products in 12 month challenge cause...

April 19, 2025

yes I failed! i failed with my first product GitCMS!

because…

  • I thought positioning it with high price will work out
  • I thought people would buy it at $25, ‘cause I was solving my own problem and thought it had a moat
  • I should have yapped more about it while I was building it. I shouldn’t have attach myself with the idea and assumed to much when I started working on this product
  • Also, I messed up while managing 9-5 (it’s my first job, so it’s new to me), I just couldn’t able to manage two things at a time. It’s just not my personality, ig.
  • And 12 product in 12 month challenge requires more time and effort so it can’t be possible for me to finish it. maybe I can convert it to 6 product in 12 month challenge. Apparently @levelsio is damn right. No one wants to pay for the chrome extension. People just consider it as free stuff. (he spit smth like this in the lex fridmen podcast)

So what’s next? am I not gonna build? Am I done here?

Naah bro, building things and solving problems through code is my natural thing. But i just do not prefer to yap and market it until it’s not perfect! (Maybe next time I’ll yap about it more)

The whole point of this challenge was to level up my game, ship fast, iterate quick, move speedy! And I wanted to find 1-2 good ideas on which I could work for the next few years to scale ‘em as a business!

ig I’m still in search of purpose, i.e the next big thing for me!

So I’ll hold the GitCMS development for now, since I’m satisfied with it for my own usecase

I’ll be jumping to the next idea for now until GitCMS gets traction, I think it’s important to focus on leaving wrong project at right time, if it’s not working out

Should I relaunch the GitCMS with new pricing, maybe $5 or $10? can I turn it into small success?

let me know your thoughts! Hope you have learnt smth from my experience
